Jack and I first met at my neighbor's house, who also happened to be his boss. I still don't know what drew him to me; it certainly wasn't my frisbee or cornhole skills. That evening, after the games, he walked me home. We sat on the front porch, talking late into the night, getting to know each other under the soft glow of the porch light.

Our first date was magical. We went out to eat and then went bowling. I didn't do well, but the best part was watching Jack bowl with such determination. Each time he threw the ball, I was convinced he might break the floor if he missed the pins.

Years and many dates later, we planned a trip to Jacksonville, Florida, to visit the same boss and neighbor where we had first met. What I didn't know was that Jack had bought a ring a month earlier and arranged for our friends to join us there. After dinner, with a beautiful lightning storm illuminating the beach, he got down on one knee and proposed, surrounded by our closest friends. It was a perfect, romantic moment that I'll cherish forever.
